Biennale of Sydney
May - August 2010 - Cockatoo Island
Working in collaboration with cultural historian, author, folklorist and performer, Warren Fahey, Mic created a video installation placing history on the walls of the convict barracks on Cockatoo Island. The six projector installation uses field recordings of traditional singers and musicians as a soundtrack to a multi-screen 28 minute experience showing the fascinating historical signposts of the island from convict prison, gaol for three notorious bushrangers, colonial dock, wayward girl‚s prison, nautical training institution, naval dockyard and engineering works.
